The original version, recorded on a 4-track back in 2003, was used for a documentary on graffiti artist, Atlas. There were attempts to re-record this that, in my opinion, failed to meet the underlying essence. I re-approached this, again, while in somewhat of the same state as I was initially when written and recorded.
lyrics
Go slow, Michael
you know there's a street that twists with you
Don't know my flow
maybe energy could leave you jack
I've been watching which way the traffic rolls
you know
you know it's hard to say so
What's up? Dumptruck?
Do you want a piece of European mutt?
Pixie dust, well, give us some
Do you want a piece?
Heavy is the heart
that sings no song when it's all alone
Fumbling in the dark
throwing hands, throwing up, looking to pull the alarm
Heavy is the heart
that sometimes has no home
ripping dreams apart
and all of the tossing and turning
ah ha, momma
Drumsticks guitar picks
anthaeneum linoleum
the pixie dust well give us some
at times it got so hard to breathe
Day dream believer turn on your receivers
the sound through your speakers
is my dream sequel
now
oh wow
Unmistakably wistful. For some of us this is a perfect summer day album-"Pebble" warms! Excited for the new release as much as I am for what lies ahead for this duo out of Brooklyn. Purepleaser
A band I'd love to be in! In a land where radio is dominated by luk thung and Thai R&B/Kpop/Hip-hop stylized music, the birthday party are cherished. Purepleaser
If you know me then you know I'm a quiet but voracious consumer of boom bap hip hop. In the current climate of gatekeeping what IS the state of hip hop, artists like blaque alex are working non stop Purepleaser
